In Japan a weight of stock assets (including equity mutual funds) in personal financial assets has kept at very low level compared with Western countries. One reason we believe is that recognition of risk/return and long-term asset management have not widely prevailed yet among investors. Another reason we believe is that offering of stable asset formation investment strategies which can be achieved by thorough diversification after taking risks is overwhelmingly less compared with Western countries. We established our company to aim at contributing to asset formation in long-term view and sound development of Japanese securities markets, by openly providing investment strategies which Western hedge funds, proprietary trading desks of Western investment banks and large Japanese securities companies have carried out, in Japan as an asset manager.
In order to earn entire trust from Japanese society and investors, we believe based in Japan obeying the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law increases transparency for the company. Moreover, being as a boutique firm, prompt response to investors’ needs, free independent creation of the management philosophy and neutrality of investment decision are guaranteed, and we believe they help to raise more transparency. The whole industry will win the confidence from investors if a large number of asset managers who share the management philosophy emerge and improve together. Someday we hope the day that ordinary individuals buy funds easily with a sense of security as a part of their long-term asset formation will come, and we hope we can contribute as a part.
